Making the Transition from Folkstyle to Freestyle
USA Wrestling has adopted rules of FILA, which can he found here. The only adaptations for Freestyle/ Greco Roman are as follows for Junior-level and younger wrestlers:
10-point technical superiority for both styles
15 minute rest period between matches
3:00 periods for Cadets & Juniors
2:00 periods for Schoolboy & younger
The structure of the matches will follow the same rules as dictated by FILA rules. FILA is the Interantional Governing Body for all World & Olympic Wrestling.
Reminder Training Tuesday/ Thursday Nights 6:30-8pm
Whether you are competing or not, take advantage of these opportunities to master the art of wrestling. Every wrestler must be very solid in the fundamentals of the sport and also learn how to wrestle in a way that takes advantage of your God given attributes, both physically and your personality. Know your strengths, know what you need to work on, and proceed with an iron will, letting no one or nothing get in your way.
